The Design
For more than half a century, Zora Arkus-Duntov had dreamed of a mid-engine Corvette. On July 18, 2019, that dream officially became a reality. The official unveiling by General Motors happened from a specially customized hangar in Orange County, California. Corvette has always represented the pinnacle of innovation and boundary-pushing at GM. The traditional front-engine vehicle reached its limits of performance, necessitating the new layout. And with that, the C8 Corvette was announced, no longer an evolution of that standard formula, but a revolution. In terms of comfort and fun, it still looks and feels like a Corvette, but drives better than any vehicle in Corvette history. Revolution indeed.
