The Design
With the 1997 unveiling of the C5 Corvette, the Corvette laid down the gauntlet and showed the world what an American sports car could be. Nothing that looked this good had come from America in a long time, and that it was packing a 345 horsepower LS1 V8 was just the icing on the cake.
