The Design
Pontiac GTO models became popular for their unique appearance and great power. And thanks to GM’s great advertising, sales only got higher. Hundreds of thousands of units made their way across the country in a stretch. The Pontiac GTO soon became the pop culture of the 1960s and a fashionable choice among young adults in the United States. The momentum of the 1966 GTO went on, and on. It later inspired a new GTO lineup for the next model year, and so on, until it was discontinued. Still, 1966 remains the best year of the Pontiac GTO.
