Nissan Skyline GT-R Hakosuka T-Shirt | KPGC10 S20 Twin-Cam 1970s Original Box-Shaped JDM Touring Car Legend Tee | Gift for Skyline Fans & Vintage JDM Enthusiasts
Hakosuka. The word that started it all. Hako — Japanese for "box" — referring to the chassis's unmistakably squared-off boxy silhouette. Suka — short for "Skyline." Put them together: the box-shaped Skyline. And the Hakosuka GT-R (sold as the PGC10 sedan from 1969 and the iconic two-door KPGC10 coupe from 1970 to 1972) is the chassis that started the entire legendary GT-R bloodline. Underneath that no-nonsense boxy bodywork: the legendary S20 — a 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 24-valve inline-six, triple-Weber carbureted, derived directly from the Prince R380 racing engine program. The S20 made the Hakosuka GT-R one of the most exotic production engines Japan had ever offered at the time — a road-going car with a racing engine under the hood, hand-built in limited numbers, and intended specifically to homologate Nissan's domination of Japanese touring car racing.
Then Nissan went racing. The Hakosuka GT-R proceeded to win 50 touring car races in just three years between 1969 and 1972 — absolutely dominating the Japanese motorsport scene and cementing the GT-R name as something nobody — anywhere — would ever take lightly again. Boxy fenders, riveted overfenders flaring out over wider track, those legendary GT-R fender badges, single round headlights, the proud upright grille — the original Hakosuka is still one of the coolest, cleanest, and most historically significant Japanese cars ever produced. Today, clean Hakosukas trade for prices that would shock anyone from twenty years ago — and rightly so. Wear the GT-R that started the entire bloodline.
Perfect for Hakosuka collectors, S20 inline-six purists, KPGC10 lifers, original GT-R generational completionists, Prince R380 racing history nerds, JCCS regulars, vintage Skyline restorers, classic JDM sports car obsessives, riveted overfender appreciators, and anyone who knows the entire GT-R legend traces directly back to this exact box-shaped 1970 sedan. A perfect gift for the friend who insists the original Hakosuka is the only GT-R that really matters — and has the receipts to back it up.
This tee is everything you've dreamed of and more. It feels soft and lightweight, with the right amount of stretch. It's comfortable and flattering for all — at the meet, at the vintage show, or wherever the old Japanese iron gathers and the Hakosuka still gets the deepest bows.
